A personal tool that should work with you—not against you
For years, I was on a mission—a personal journey to find the perfect planner. Every January, I would dive into a fresh agenda, filled with optimism that this would be the one to keep me organized, inspired, and on track. Yet, year after year, I found myself abandoning those planners halfway through because they just didn’t meet my needs. Some worked out better than other but even the more successful planners had skipped weeks for the sections that didn't capture everything I needed at the time. Either the daily layouts were too rigid (I'm not the type to plan my day out by the hour), the wellness trackers didn’t align with my routines (the generic fitness tracker blocks didn't motivate me how I wanted to be), or the designs felt impersonal and uninspiring.

My Journey to Creating the Empowerment Agenda
When I think back, my love for planners started as a way to stay organized amidst a hectic schedule. But as time went on, I realized that a planner is so much more than just a calendar. It’s a space where dreams are mapped out, challenges are navigated, and growth is celebrated. It’s a personal tool that should work with you—not against you. And at the end of the year, it shows the story of your growth throughout the year.
The problem was, most planners I tried didn’t fit my lifestyle. The day planning pages were often designed with rigid, hour-by-hour time slots that didn’t resonate with how I structure my days. My schedule doesn’t need that level of micromanagement—I prefer a broader approach to organizing my time using categories instead. Meanwhile, the fitness tracking sections often felt overly generic or incomplete.
I wanted a system that would accommodate a variety of workout routines, whether I was doing yoga, strength training, or simply taking a long walk. And don’t get me started on the lack of meal tracking options that fit my casual approach. I needed something simple, like a space to jot down daily meals, healthy snacks and snacking habits for accountability without feeling like I was tracking calories on an app.

Another gap I noticed in most planners was the lack of space for meaningful reflection. I craved a section where I could pause at the end of each week to assess my
progress, realign my priorities, and take note of any lessons learned. I wanted prompts that would encourage self-care and gratitude—two essential practices for maintaining balance in a busy life. And of course, meal planning and grocery lists were an absolute must. A planner without these sections felt incomplete to me. For each week there is space to plan out the main meals and snacks and make up your grocery list as you plan. For me personally, this how I do my best planning, focusing on the key eating points of the week (in my life those are dinners and having healthy snacks during the week).
The wellness checklist is included on each weekly reflection for to keep self-care top of mind. I find these helpful prompts keep me balanced and ensure I track what areas I’m doing well in and what aspects tend to fall off my radar.
